North Vancouver: dredge barge grounded Sep 17, later refloated; VFPA says no fuel leak and no port-ops impact
Vancouver Sun’s Stephanie Ip reports a barge carrying sand and rock dredged from Burrard Inlet ran aground near North Vancouver on 17 Sep; VFPA said it was stabilized/secured, not blocking navigation or impacting port operations, and not leaking fuel or hydrocarbons. CTV’s Ian Holliday (18 Sep) reports Transport Canada saying the barge was later refloated with no reports of pollution.
